Our U-Fix campaign

U-Fix is built around a simple insight - predictability. In a world of uncertainty, U-Fix enables our customers to take control by giving them the ability to predict what their bills will be each month. That's not all, U-Fix is also available on any mobile in our range.

FreeMove

By working together and sharing resources, we can offer our customers the same advanced mobile services they use at home - accessed and experienced in exactly the same way - throughout Europe as well as in many other parts of the World. Their experience when travelling will be of a virtual home environment. For example, customer service will be available in the language of their home network.

Business customers will be able to take advantage of a wide range of benefits including the option of streamlining supplier arrangements across alliance member countries and international harmonisation of services.

When you are part of the Freemove alliance you are part of the largest mobile community world-wide.

The Network

Mobile phones work by sending and receiving digital radio signals - much the same as those used for radio and television - to and from base stations.

Base stations link individual mobiles to the rest of the mobile network and to landline telephones. The base stations provide mobile phone coverage to a geographical area known as a cell.
These cells usually overlap so a signal can pass from one base station to another as a caller moves around. However, where there are gaps between cells or excessive demand, the signal may be lost and a call dropped. We work to fill gaps to make sure customers can use their phones at all times, wherever they are.

Radio signals are made up of electric and magnetic fields. The frequency of a radio wave is measured in Hertz (Hz) and is the number of waves passing a point in one second.

Frequencies between 30 kHz and 30 GHz are used for television, radio and mobile telephony. All of these appear on the Electromagnetic Spectrum (EMS).

Demand on the EMS is high, so to minimise interference between different systems the Office of Communications (Ofcom) places strict controls on the frequency bands operators can use.

T-Mobile operates at frequencies in the 1800 MHz band for 2G and 2100 MHz for the 3G network.

free phones Recycling
Around 15 million people upgrade their mobile phones in the UK each year. This equates to some 1,500 tonnes of potentially hazardous landfill.

Developing countries can make use of phones returned in good condition. Recycling cuts down the environmental waste associated with breaking up a phone.

Fonebak provides a safe and environmentally responsible way to manage the return of these phones and associated accessories.

To receive your cheque, download our leaflet on recycling. Complete the form with your details and return, along with your phone, in an envelope addressed to:
FREEPOST T-Mobile Recycling.
